Our commitment

ACORN Senior Living Communities is committed to making our website usable for everyone — including older adults, family caregivers, and people with disabilities who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or voice control. Accessibility is part of how we care for people, online and in our homes.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Last reviewed

This site was last reviewed for accessibility on October 3, 2026, using automated testing on every page plus manual keyboard checks.

What we've built in

• A text size control (A / A+ / A++) and an English/Spanish language switch in the header.
• A "Skip to content" link, keyboard navigation, and clearly visible focus outlines.
• High-contrast colors and a highly legible typeface (Atkinson Hyperlegible).
• Large buttons and links (at least 48 pixels tall) for easier tapping.
• Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
• Form fields with visible labels and error messages read aloud by screen readers.
• A text-list version of our interactive Commons map, and a list view of the activity calendar.
• A pause button for animations, and reduced motion when your device asks for it.
• A phone alternative next to every third-party tool (booking calendar, chat, maps, social feeds).

Known limitations

• Third-party tools we embed — such as the online booking calendar, chat, maps, and social media — are run by other companies and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. You can always call us instead.
• Some PDF documents may not yet be fully accessible. We'll gladly read them to you or send an accessible version.
